Wheeling Fashion Week Launches with a Sold-Out Triumph

Wheeling Fashion Week Successful Debut at Waterfront Hall

WHEELING, WV — The inaugural Wheeling Fashion Week took place Saturday night at Waterfront Hall, attracting over 150 attendees and selling out three times, marking a triumphant start for the event. Founded by Wheeling native Emily Rouse, who drew inspiration from her experiences in New York City’s fashion scene, the event aimed to spotlight local talent and demonstrate that fashion can thrive beyond major metropolitan areas.

"This isn’t just for New York and Los Angeles," Rouse emphasized. "Wheeling deserves its moment on the fashion stage." The event showcased nine local designers, featuring a range of clothing and accessories from businesses like Two Times Clothing and Collectibles.

Owner Payton Bourgeois shared his enthusiasm about the community turnout, stating, "To see 200 people in Wheeling passionate about fashion is overwhelming and sets us on a good course for next year." The nonprofit effort was driven by local youths, with committee member Spencer Porter highlighting the vibrant community spirit.

With plans to return next year, Wheeling Fashion Week is poised to become an annual celebration of local creativity and style, further enriching the local cultural landscape.
