West Virginia University Welcomes Top Recruit Jayden Forsythe for 2025-26 Season
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University’s men’s basketball coach, Ross Hodge, has officially announced the signing of standout guard Jayden Forsythe to a grant-in-aid for the 2025-26 season.
Standing at 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 190 pounds, Forsythe hails from Brooklyn, New York, and will be entering his freshman year at WVU after an impressive stint at Westtown School in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Coach Hodge expressed enthusiasm about Forsythe’s potential, stating, "Jayden is one of the best young shooters in the country. He has a tireless work ethic and his character will allow him to continuously get better. We are excited to add him to our Mountaineer program."
During his time at Westtown, Forsythe showcased his skills by averaging 12.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game, while achieving a commendable 38.1% shooting from beyond the arc. His talent has not gone unnoticed, as he is ranked among the Top 100 recruits by various scouting services and is recognized as a top five player in Pennsylvania for the Class of 2025.
Forsythe’s performance on the Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) circuit solidified his reputation, as he was the only player to shoot over 40% from 3-point range with more than 75 attempts. Furthermore, he contributed an average of 9.5 points at the prestigious Peach Jam, maintaining a shooting percentage of 39% from three-point territory.
With such accolades and robust scoring ability, Forsythe is poised to make a significant impact in the Mountaineer program. The WVU community looks forward to watching his journey unfold on the court.
