West Virginia Welcomes Elite Pitcher Ian Korn

West Virginia has added a standout talent to its baseball roster with the commitment of Ian Korn, the 2024 NCBWA Division II National Pitcher of the Year. Korn, a 6-foot, 205-pound right-handed pitcher from Seton Hill, showcased extraordinary performance last season with an 11-2 record, a 1.81 ERA, and 83 strikeouts over 84.1 innings. His dominant play earned him honors such as First Team All-American and made him the first Seton Hill player to receive a national player of the year award from the NCBWA.

Korn expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Mountaineers, praising the program’s exceptional coaches, players, and fans. He noted that the moment he stepped onto campus, he knew it was where he wanted to compete for a championship. His accolades also include being named the D2CCA Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Year and the PSAC West Pitcher of the Year. Originally from York, Pennsylvania, Korn excelled in high school, earning the title of Pitcher of the Year. With one year of eligibility remaining, he is poised to play a pivotal role in West Virginia’s pursuit of national success.
